Bromley Business Club
We are very pleased to announce that Mark Prisk MP, Secretary of State for Business & Enterprise and Jo Johnson MP for Orpington will be attending the Orpington Campus of Bromley College (formerly Orpington College) on Wednesday 2nd May at 2.30pm for a meeting with Bromley based businesses.

This is a real opportunity for local businesses to put some questions to a senior Government Minister – no holds barred!. The meeting will start at 2.30pm and finish by 3.30pm.

In terms of the meeting, Jo Johnson will introduce Mark Prisk briefly. Mark will then speak for around 15 minutes covering the following topics:

  • What the Government is doing for Small Businesses
  • Access to Finance
  • Red Tape
  • Mentoring
  • Apprenticeships

Jo is keen to say that, however, this is a session for the businesses and Mark Prisk wants to hear their concerns.

I would strongly urge everyone to attend. It would be really helpful if you could email Chandra if you are intending to come to the meeting so that we have an idea of numbers. Please invite your business Neighbours and particularly any new businesses that have recently opened in the area.

I hope to see you there.

Bromley Business Club
Thursday 12th April sees a fun and informative workshop lead by 1230 The Women's Company MD Jackie Groundsell.

Jackie's proactive workshop covers key messages to Make Networking Work for You: Why network? Must I?; Preparation for a networking event; Becoming a networking magnet; Quality "how to" secrets of networking made easy; Tools for networking, including the 1 minute talk; Overcoming any fears; what should and shouldn't happen at a networking event; and, after a networking event - what next?

There will be plenty of opportunity for questions and answers and attendees will leave the session fully equipped and confident in managing their future networking opportunities successfully.

I think it's going to be an interesting night and they'll be plenty of tips to take away and try out.

Kind regards

How to make yourself interesting, intriguing and talked about!

Bromley Business Club
This Thursday 8th March our Chairman will present How to make yourself interesting, intriguing and talked about!

How often do you meet people who are pleasant and friendly but ultimately uninspiring and very forgettable. I know it sounds a bit harsh but it's true isn't it? Most people in business are not very memorable, and not very interesting. Yet they still want you to remember to do business with them and not someone else.

How much better does it feel when you meet the other type of person: The lady who is both interesting and interested - in you; The man who's personality and passion oozes from every pore; The person who you tell your partner or colleague about that night because they made such a big impression on you.

How cool would it be - not to mention incredibly valuable to your business - if you were that second person?

"Oh it's not me", I hear you cry. "Unlike Lady GaGa I wasn't 'born this way'".

How cool would it be - not to mention incredibly valuable to your business - if you were that second person?

Well that's where you would be wrong, and at our next BBC meeting, we'll be looking at seeing exactly how to make yourself interesting, intriguing and talked about.

And all without any scandal or sexual innuendo. (oh well, maybe just a bit then!).

Seriously, we'll share the 5 simple steps to ensuring that your customers are eagerly waiting to open your emails and take your calls. What you need to do so that they genuinely can't wait to hear what you have to say next, including the single biggest secret to making yourself and your business interesting.

You see there is a process that can be followed here. And it works. And I've got it all for you at our meeting this week.

I think it's going to be one of the most fascinating sessions we've run so far and I hope you're able to join us. It'll be fun, useful and, er... interesting!

Kind regards
