Tony Isbitt Photography meets Chloe for a Work Experience

Monday 27th June is the day Chloe joins us for her Work Experience. I must admit it has been a few years since we last did this - in fact when we had two darkrooms, film processing and printing machines. Now it's just a apple mac sitting on a desk coupled to a digital camera.

I remember when Chloe came for her interview I made two statements. 1) you are not here to make tea and 2) You will not be asked to do filing.

To take on somebody from school and bring them into the real world for two weeks is a major resposibility and I am determined that Chloe's experience is going to be a good one. She is going to be from day one, one of us, part of our firm, a work coleague and a trusted team player. My ethic is that when a job has gone well it's down to all of us and we should all take a credit. When it doesn't go as well as it might of then we are all to blame. That's team work and that's how we play.

On our facebook page Chloe will let us know her thoughts of her work experience. I can't wait to read them.

Tony Isbitt has a ball at Selsdon Park Hotel

Saturday night we had a function at Selsdon Park Hotel. Three of us arrived and we set about preparing our area. We were blessed with a whole room where we set up the picture taking area with full studio lighting, then the processing and printing area ready to produce 9in x 6in prints and finally the print order section. This may sound complicated but believe me this is a very slick operation.

The evening started a bit slow but picked and got very busy once people could see what we were doing. I love it when people come and thank us for the standard of photography and the quality of our printing. I love it for my staff because they work so hard to get everything right.

We are happy to arrange event photography for any charity or business organization. There is no charge for us to attend.

You can contact us on 020 8460 5710 or of course email at tony.isbitt@which.net

Tony Isbitt Photography is live

At last we have our new website up and running. Gill my wife has spent an eternity with the web designers on the content and layout of the site. I can't believe how many things you have to think about these days in order to get seen. Still I hope you will look at it and please if you can, give Gill some feedback she would appreciate it. Thank you.

It is confirmed that we are the reccomended photographers at Sundridge Park. I and all of our team have worked hard and passionatley to achieve this position. We have every intention of making sure we stay there.

We feature very strongly with Bromley Court Hotel in as much as all the pictures in their brochure have been taken by us. They also reccomend us to clients for weddings, portraits and event photography.

It's coming up to Fathers Day (June 19th) and we have some portrait vouchers still available.

I am so sorry I missed Jackie at the last meeting. It was my birthday and family commitments came first. I'm looking forward to the next meeting at Sundridge Park.

Clare runs a 10k for St.Christopher's Hospice

30th May 2011 - Clare ran her 10k today on behalf of St.Christopher's Hospice. This was the London run starting at Birdcage Walk and ending in The Mall. It was perfect running weather with a light breeze and no rain. A big thank you to all who sponsored her run.
Her fund raising page is still open for sponsorship at http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/clareisbitt

It's so nice to write a blog that is not business related and yet so important. St.Christopher's as you know provides palliative care to cancer patients throughout the Bromley Borough and beyond. They rely on support from various activities, the sponsored 10k being one of them.

BUPA who organized this event do a magnificent job in looking after the runners but, it would appear, they have no consideration for spectators. Let me explain. I wanted to be in a position to take some pictures of Clare as she crossed the finish line. The whole area was barricaded off. One of the officials told that there would hundreds of people wanting to take pictures if they could. My answer to BUPA is make sure they can. It is they who have spent their money on sponsorship, it is they who want to see their runners cross the line. I am so annoyed and so upset that I haven't got my own picture of my daughter crossing the finishing line. I am forced to buy one from the official site.

Come on BUPA. Do something about this.

Work Experience

Next month (from June 27th) for two weeks we shall be joined by a young student for work experience. It has been a few years since we last did this. Then, we taught lighting, film processing and printing. This time it's going to be a lot different.

I didn't want to do this anymore as I didn't think we had anything to offer but the students Mum is an old customer and she did make a good appeal on behalf of her daughter and I was in a particularly good mood at the time.

Our student is going to learn how to compose and take pictures, download and store images, process images for printing and finally print presentation.

The interview has already taken place with the student as well as my interview with the relevant authorities regarding health and safety, risk assessment and general well being for the student.

Now that's all out of the way I'm quite looking forward to the experience myself. I have made one stipulation to our student:

You agree to learn and I agree to teach.

It should be a pleasant two weeks.

I am looking for as many jobs as I can get to make this a pleasant but busy fortnight, so, if you have any photoshoots you can give me it will be a great help. There will be special rates for this period. Please contact me on 020 8460 5710 or email: tony.isbitt@which.net Thank you.
