Tony Isbitt races ahead
Sunday 23rd January we had our first wedding exhibition at the wonderful Brands Hatch Motorvision centre. Like all wedding exhibitions photographers outnumber any other exhibitor. I have my views on this, but that's for another day.
It is absolutely critical to have our set up as perfect as we can get it. A great deal of thought goes into making sure every detail is accounted for. I have to say we do get it right most of the time. The pictures we had on the exhibition boards not only had to be strong individually but had to compose nicely as a whole display. The albums and storybooks we had on the table were colourful, easy to handle and represented the standard of work our customers should expect of us. The final part of this exercise is getting the package we are offering right. Over the last thirty years we have seen trends change as new products come to the market place. Also the style of photography has changed. Mind you having said that there is a change in Brides wanting to go back to the more traditional photography. I think they like to be treated special. They do I'm sure want their dress to look perfect rather than untidy.
With so many photographers trying to sell their services we felt it was important to approach would be customers in a dignified manner. There were no shoving brochures into people’s hands, no pressure selling just quietly explaining to people how we can accommodate their day and produce a lifetime of memories they will cherish. It worked because a customer who had 'done the rounds' came back to us and booked our services for her big day. For us is was a great way to end the day.
Come along to Bromley Court Hotel this Sunday where we shall be exhibiting our services again. Look forward to seeing you.
